A quest for purpose

I don’t recall ever wanting to become a teacher when I was a young. But I do have a fond memory of me as a fifth grader reading aloud from the textbook, while sitting down in front of a mirror in my bedroom. In my head I was playing to be a news reporter while studying for an exam. With a hairbrush microphone in my hand, I would recite to myself what I had learned.
